I know the quality isn’t great since I took it with my phone camera through the windshield in early morning light. It says, “HONK if parts fall off.”

I’ve done a number of ebook covers for other authors, and I’m working on creating a set of instructional booklets on how to create your own ebook cover using free software, or other programs you might already have. The first one is for Paint.NET, a free image-manipulation program for PC computers. You can order it from Amazon.com. More will be following soon and in additional formats.
Finally, I’m working on scanning in my backlist Avalon books to make them available in electronic editions. The first one, The Night Prowlers, should be available soon!

I spent last week at the beach, on Edisto Island, a barrier island off the coast of South Carolina, south of Charleston. Edisto Beach is a quiet place, well off the beaten track. There are no high-rise hotels, no amusement parks, no movie theaters, just a few restaurants and only a couple of souvenir shops. But it has a glorious beach. Except for the first couple of days, the weather was near-perfect, warm enough to make strolling on the beach and paddling in the water pleasant, but not sizzling hot.
We ate lots of seafood, spent time reading while sitting on the deck soaking up the sunlight and the sea breeze. Slept well with the sound of the ocean soothing us. More to come. There was a lot of interesting wildlife and things found on the beach.

First my wonderful husband got me a Kindle! I’m really excited. I love reading on the thing. It’s so light and the screen is really easy to read. I’ve got it pretty loaded with books already.
And my daughter got me this awesome Dr. Who mug with a Tardis that disappears from one side and takes off into space on the other side when filled with hot liquid.
Cool, no?
I’ll soon be getting my rights back to my vampire story that was part of the BENEATH A CHRISTMAS MOON anthology. I need to create a new cover for it and get it released in ebook editions.
It’s hard to explain to people how this story isn’t what they might expect when they hear that it’s a vampire story. But it’s a Christmas story too, and almost as heartwarming–in its own somewhat violent way–as most of the genre.
