Even though\u00a0I have children and grandchildren of my own, my mother was still an important part of my life. I used to call her often, and we always talked on major holidays.\u00a0She would have called, or I would have called her on Thanksgiving day.<\/p>\n<p>There was no call since she passed away on November 2. The funeral is done, many tears shed, people notified, her apartment cleared out, legal stuff taken care of, and I&#8217;m back home and back to my (mostly) normal schedule.<\/p>\n<p>But there&#8217;s a hole in my life where she used to be. It&#8217;s a wound that will eventually scab over, I know, but it will never heal entirely.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure I&#8217;d want it to.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I miss my mom.
