I\u2019d have a hard time ranking them or deciding which I thought was the absolute best. There\u2019s only one non-fiction title on the list and the fiction leans heavily toward science fiction, fantasy, and mystery. Not really surprising, I suppose, since my writing leans heavily that way as well. Most were released before last year, but sometimes I’m slow to catch up.<\/p>\n

So, in no particular order, these are the best books I read in 2022:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

And these were my biggest disappointments (not providing covers for these):<\/p>\n

Verity<\/strong> <\/em>\u2013 Colleen Hoover — Despite a number of rave reviews I read, I just didn\u2019t like it. I didn\u2019t like the characters and found the plot unrealistic. The \u201ctwist\u201d bordered on absurdity. I regret the hours I wasted on this one.<\/p>\n

Lessons in Chemistry<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 Bonnie Garmin\u00a0 – Actually, this was a pretty good book. The hype just led me to expect more than I got.<\/p>\n

The Midnight Library<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 Matt Haig — Ditto<\/p>\n
