It grabbed my attention by its odd shape and the placement of the three holes worn through the surface of what had likely once been an oyster shell.<\/p>\n<p>I picked it up initially just because it looked interesting, but the more I looked at it, the more I saw other things. There\u2019s a face in there for sure.\u00a0 And a resemblance to the contorted figure in Edvard Munch\u2019s The Scream.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Scream#\/media\/File:The_Scream.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Scream#\/media\/File:The_Scream.jpg<\/a><\/p>\n<p>But the more I looked, I also the character Groot from The Guardians of the Galaxy (the movie version moreso than the comic book character):<\/p>\n<p>Comic Book Groot: <a href=\"http:\/\/marvel.wikia.com\/wiki\/Groot_(Earth-616)\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/marvel.wikia.com\/wiki\/Groot_(Earth-616)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Movie Groot: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ph_l7Pp_1mk\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ph_l7Pp_1mk <\/a><\/p>\n<p>And if you haven\u2019t seen the movie, why not?\u00a0 It\u2019s marvelous (forgive the bad pun, but I couldn\u2019t resist).<\/p>\n<p>What do you see in it?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I found this odd bit of shell on Edisto Island beach.
